Jefferson Academy PTO Board Meeting Minutes
September 10, 2020 7:00 pm Zoom Call Those in attendance: Amy Oswald, Sydney Bowman, Terra Weller, Shawna Wichtoski, Aubree Clark, Cassi Todd, Elisha Hurlburt, Heather Seidler, Amy Crofts, Kevin DeYoung, Alejandra Meza, Meghan Porter, Jordan Porter, Keaton Taberski, Katerina Spencer, Welcome: Amy Oswald, PTO President Introduction to PTO/Committees: We would love anyone who would like to join the PTO to be a part of it. No dues are required. Our main goal is to help and support the school. We try to help each of our families feel a part of our Charter School community. Each Chair introduced themselves and gave a brief summary of their responsibilities/event. We are looking to fill Fun Run and Yearbook Chairs. Calendar: Did a quick look at the year’s activities. More updates about events will come as we hear from Mrs. Jones, but a lot of it will be waiting and seeing how situations are as the event gets closer. We will continue to have our monthly PTO meetings on the 2nd Thursday of the month. They will be held on Zoom until further notice. A link will be emailed out to parents so that they can attend as well. Say Yes Day: Our first dress down day is September 23. The students can pay $2.00 to dress down in a wild theme. Amy O, Sydney, Terra, and Shawna will be counting the money at the end of the day. Box Tops: We will be doing a grade level competition during the month of October. Elisha will make posters that will be posted by the front door to be seen at pick-up/drop-off and by the office. Fliers will be made and sent home with each student. Shawna will post on Facebook the instructions for the new Box Top system. The receipt can be divided between students/classes for families that have more than one student attending Jefferson Academy. The teacher should also be changed each school year. Fall Activity: Brainstorming ideas for possible fall activities.
We will verify with Mrs. Jones for approval on the Fall Activity. Spirit Wear: Shawna posted some samples of items to get an idea on what people are wanting to purchase. We are trying to decide on whether to sell more than one style of Spirit Wear. The fewer the quantity the higher the price. We are going to try to purchase the product so that we can have the items to sell at Parent Teacher Conferences.
