Officers and Committee Chairs: Updates
  • College and Career Week / Day (Erin's Mom heading this?) 
  • Field Day Chair
  • Literacy Chair and Co-chair
  • Ribbon Week Chair (combining into a single week:  Pedestrian, Drug, Internet)
 
Discussion of Calendar for 2018 – Rhonna    
We are trying to get next year's calendar set and scheduled with Christy so there are fewer conflicts. 
 
Field Day update:  Abby / Linsay       
Bounce houses all day – classes will rotate through. All students will be outside from 12:45-3pm. PTO has concerns about all grades being out at the same time.  Mrs. Jones will approve with enough supervision for each class.  Volunteers needed?  
 
Financials:  Liz
  • Moving money over to savings for Playground.  We have $31,000 set aside for phase I.  Leaving us $2,300 to run PTO expenses next year. 
  • Staying in our assigned budgets for our activities.  You will only be reimbursed up to the amount that is in the budget. 
  • Make sure receipts are turned in, in a timely manner.
Teacher Appreciation:  Amy /Linsay
  • Need a few more books signed – classes on field trips today.
  • Teachers have LOVED their doors! 
Literacy:  Kristi / Heidi
  • Bookfair dates have been set with corresponding PT conferences next year.
  • Would like more budget for Moms and muffins / Dads and donuts. Mrs. Jones is willing to pay 50% of this from the school's budget. 
Playground discussion:  Elizabeth
  • 15 Trees have been purchased.  They will hold these until landscaping company can mark sprinkler lines .  Need to be planted in May.   Fence around to deter kids from climbing. 
  • Most renovations will be made in June. 
  • 2 monkey bars 13x7ft  $3,400
  • 8ft wide asphalt track $13,000
  • Baseball diamond $3,600
  • Soccer goal posts on NW end need to be removed.  School will cover 50% of the cost. 
  • Phase II? 
  • Mrs. Jones will coordinate a Welcome to JA night to show off field and grilled burgers – Aug.
Yearbook:  Marci / Erin
  • 10 left to sell to break even.   +40 to make a profit.
  • Sell during Program week with leftover spiritwear
 
Next Meeting:  Summer – July?    At a park?
