Britney Johnson, Alivia Burgess, Shantell Moses, Kristi Harris, Rebekah Grow, Amy Oswald, Jeanne Groberg

Welcome: Elizabeth Hill, PTO Secretary

Voting: Ballots were passed out and we voted on President for next year. Erin Taylor was elected PTO
President for next year with 15 votes. There was no President Elect to vote on.

Playground: On the morning of May 31st we will be cutting and removing the sod for the new
playground. We will need as many volunteers on this day as we can get. The sod will be moved to Erin’s
backyard. Mrs. Driggs son is also helping us for his Eagle Scout project. The pit will be dug on June 1st and
the playground installation will be on June 4th .

Fundraising: Zupas is on March 13 at the Zupas in Farmington. It is from 5-9pm, take out or eat in. You
just need to mention that you are there for Jefferson Academy.

Fun Run: Chelsea has scheduled the teacher meeting and the pep rally day needs to be Christy in the
office. There are core volunteers who will be helping to receive the shipments for the Fun Run, but
volunteers will also be needed to help give out the prizes that the students earn for collecting sponsors
– people who are cheery and peppy to get the kids excited to keep earning sponsors. This will be done in
the afternoons around 2:30 pm. We aren’t doing the 2-week collection period like we did last year, just
pay online with cards, but we can still accept checks and cash. We are also still looking for sponsors for
the Fun Run.

Field Day: Britney had the idea to set up an inflatable obstacle course and see if the military would come
help run it and sponsor it. The equipment needs for this would need to be discussed with Mrs. Williams.
RSL also wants to come do a booth at Field Day.

Open Positions for 2018-2019 School Year:
President Elect
Fundraiser
Literacy
Safety Week
Field Day
Volunteer
Yearbook

Summer Ideas: We discussed some ideas to help advertise the school and PTO this summer. We want to
make the RSL camp a community event so that more than just Jefferson Academy students will
participate. We discussed the idea of having a float or banner in the Kaysville 4th of July parade. Current
students could wear their College Bound shirts and pass out bead necklaces, otter pops etc. We could
also use this time to advertise for another event such as a Movie in the Dark behind the school or an
activity at Classic Skating.

Upcoming PTO Meeting dates and times:
Apr 12 7:00pm
May 10th 7:00 pm
