Veteran’s Day: The program will be held on November 13th and the doors will open at 7 am and the program will begin at 7:30 am. Chelsea has 2 people lined up for the panel and is looking for a couple more, specifically a military lawyer to help answer the tough questions. She is getting the MRE’s from her dad and will be serving them in small portion cups (some from Amy and maybe Smith and Edward’s or Amazon). She is looking into ROTC and/or National Guard help for running PT tests. She is still in need of volunteers for food. She needs: 50 dozen muffins, 42 dozen donuts, 25 pounds of grapes, 10 gallons of milk, 2 gallons of chocolate milk and 600 Capri Sun’s.
Website: Rebekah tries to post every couple of days about events so that parents aren’t bombarded with posts from the PTO page. She posts sign-ups about 3 or 4 times. Just let her know what information you’d like posted and when.
PTO Proceedings: We discussed expectations that we have for our Executive Board, Chair positions and the PTO in general. Erin and Sydney will compile them and add them to the PTO Handbook and make a paper to be signed by everyone serving in a PTO position. This will be available to anyone in the PTO room.
Finances: Aubree will be updating the budget monthly and sending it to Rebekah to be posted on our website. If there are any questions about your activities budget, let her know. Everyone signed financial agreements at the meeting. This is required before handling any money.
Carnival/Harvest Party: More volunteers are needed for the Harvest Party. There will be a magician at 8 pm and the kids will be invited up to sing “This is Halloween”. We will need petty cash for the food. The board will vote on the top 3 pumpkins at the pumpkin walk and the winners will receive Visa Gift Cards: 1st = $50, 2nd = $25, 3rd = $15. The winner of the participation drawing will receive tickets to a show from Beth’s theater company and we will do a hashtag drawing for people who post pictures of the Harvest Party on Facebook. That winner will receive some swag and dress down passes.
Literacy: Traci has flyers made for Dad’s and Donuts that will go out the Monday after Fall Break. She will be asking parents to donate donuts for the event.
Teacher Appreciation: Meals for Parent/Teacher Conference in November will be provided on the 7th and 8th. She will send out sign ups and is planning on doing soups and Hawaiian Haystacks.
Teacher Newsletter: Goes out once a month to the teachers. Sydney will be in October and Aubree will be in November.
Volunteer: Beth will no longer be sending Redbox codes with the Thank You notes that go to families who have completed their 30 hours. Instead she will be doing 2 drawings for larger baskets – one mid year and one at the end of the year.
